TSRF 1/24 Scale races, November 29, 2005

Steube edges towards 2005 championship, Sterrett even!
After a tough battle, Mike survived the day against the consistent Paul Sterrett. Paul forgot his TSRF cars at home and was loaned Philippe's oldest car, the second production TSRF chassis ever. Philippe raced it for a long time but had it stuffed in his box since the Phoenix race earlier this year. The tires were a bit dried-up, so a new set was fitted, and Paul set the race's fastest lap with a clean 6.589" with it. Unfortunately, the car was too "tight" for the track conditions and Paul lost it twice, costing him the race. Mike made no mistakes with his marginally slower car and walked away with a fat 18 points, but Paul's 17-point second place plus his fast lap mean that the status-quo was kept.
Behind those two, hard battles were fought at all levels. Scott Corwin was best of the rest, but the point bonus afforded to the injected bodies put Jim Watterson in third place. Philippe kept crashing the second fastest car in the race and somehow ended in fifth place. Barry Obler improved and was on his tail, while Flexi racer Mike Hudson did quite well with his new car in 7th.
Paul Wilde and Ridge Ellis are both constantly improving and should be proud of their results in a tightly fought battle.
Dennis Hill struggled with a loaner car, hampered from lack of horsepower, still edging a vastly improved Dennis Samson by a mere lap. Greg Carter had his usual eventful race ahead of Kevin Randall and ex-MESAC Roger Usitalo getting his feet wet.
Ron Kiyomura was running the prototype of the 2006 NASCAR "hard body" truck class and that truck is fun to drive! With the bonus, he picked up the 11th place money. Both John and Jesse Javier are learning the ropes, totally new to the hobby and enjoying it greatly.

Group picture with one guy missing. He is taking the shot. A really good bunch of racers, many new enthusiasts who had hardly ever see a slot car before, now fighting it out with some of the best racers in history. THAT is TSRF racing! |
| Ridge Ellis had his flotilla of Porsche 956C's this one the latest. | ![]()

Here is another... |

Ron Kiyomura had his Chevy truck ready for the 2006 races. That thisng is FUN to drive! |
| The chassis has some brass rods
stuck on the sides to provide the necessary ballast since the body is quite
tall... Note the tires "cut down" to remove excess traction, something that may no longer be legal in 2006. |
