Steube NASCAR King!
The second NASCAR race showed serious improvement on speed as the racers are learning how to make those 200+ grams cars to run properly. Scott Corwin led the first heat on front of Mike Steube and Philippe de Lespinay, with Paul Sterrett in the same lap. Scott led the second heat over Mike and Philippe, Paul having problems and being passed by Dennis Samson and Sam Brown. The third heat saw Steube leading from Samson and de Lespinay, Corwin losing 4 laps in his first "off". Sterrett was in deep hurt 5 laps behind, but was on a charge. By mid race, Mike was two over Dennis, five over Paul and 6 over Corwin. Paul closed the gap at the end but Mike was now on cruise mode with 3 laps cushion over Paul. John Emmons, Sam Brown and Rick Salvino were never a factor.
De Lespinay won Concours with his Ford Taurus over his back-up car, a Chevy driven by Rick Salvino.

Typical TSRF-NASCAR body prep with the Revell model painted, decaled and clear-coated with its one-piece Lexan cockpit using the body kit's driver fitted in the seat. The dash and steering wheel also come from the body kit. Note that the one-piece window requires no glue as it fits very tightly to the body.

The starting field with the Concours-winning Ford Taurus built by Philippe de Lespinay on the black lane. The car handled nicely but its motor was a bit too slow to compete for top honors and it cruised to fifth spot. Next to it is the temporarily unfinished Chevy driven by Paul Sterrett, Scott Corwin's Taurus and Sam Brown's Chevy. |

Dennis Samson's Kellog's car looks as cool as it gets. It also was fast and a good handler.
