TSRF Rocket Ships For Speed Freaks, Illegal In All 50 States!

Mike Swiss of Koford Engineering, the world's most
advanced slot car motor company, was kind enough to perform his magic on a
few "X-Perimental" TSRF motors. By fitting what amounts to be
modified Koford production units, Mike was able to extract enormous
horsepower from the little mills, enough to transform the TSRF cars into
intense rockets.
The motors snap right into the chassis after a slight cut is made to clear the base of the end bell. |

End bell wiring has been devised to allow a bolt-on mounting with no soldering involved while retaining the TSRF patented under-chassis lead-wire system. |

This mill uses the stock magnets and allows a clean 30% reduction in overall lap time. But it can probably do better once we sort out the chassis to handle the increased power. Without any added air control on the Porsche 962 body, the car laps as fast as a good Flexi with aero body and a "Super 16-D" motor... |

Even faster is this cobalt-magnet version using a
modified (reverse-timing) GP12 armature. This thing is a freaky rocket and
probably qualifies as the fastest exact-scale model racing car ever
built... With its 1-1/16th tires and an injected Tamiya body, it laps a
King track in less than 5 seconds... a time good enough for a pro-racing
car with "squashed" body fitted with air-control spoilers and
little go-kart tires of the early 1970's.

Of course these motors are purely experimental and were devised to explore the limits of the TSRF chassis. Next we will fit one of these speed monsters in the smaller TSRF32 car... |
